Project Overview

Battery Diagnostics (BD), a leading car diagnostic service provider in the UK, is focused on improving operational efficiency and delivering faster, more reliable services to its customers through digital transformation. With the rapid increase in the number of vehicles on the road and the growing demand for regular maintenance and advanced diagnostics, BD handles hundreds of diagnostic jobs on a daily basis. Managing these operations manually has become increasingly time-consuming and complex, creating the need for a centralized and automated business management system.

To address these challenges, the proposed software solution will streamline and automate BD’s core business processes within a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform. The system will simplify job creation and scheduling, allowing staff to quickly register customer requests, assign technicians, and monitor job progress in real time. It will also provide comprehensive diagnostics tracking, ensuring that every vehicle inspection, fault report, and repair recommendation is accurately recorded and easily accessible.

 A Tri-Tiered Automation Ecosystem 
 
We moved away from fragmented manual processes to a centralized digital hub, focusing on three core user groups:

1. The Professional’s Mobile App (Plumbers & Electricians)

To drive engagement, we implemented a QR-based loyalty program.

  • Instant Rewards: Professionals register via CNIC and phone number to scan unique QR codes (or enter 12-digit backup codes) found on PPG products.
  • Wallet Management: A digital wallet tracks points in real-time. Every quarter, users can redeem these points for prizes directly through the app.
  • Dual Incentive: Beyond points, the system facilitates a cash-back model when professionals return scanned coupons to authorized dealers, ensuring a closed-loop engagement cycle.

2. The Dealer & Distributor Network

To ensure transparency in the payment cycle, we digitized the reconciliation process:

  • Verified Payouts: Dealers use the app to scan coupons presented by plumbers. The system matches this data against the professional’s scan to verify the transaction.
  • Automated Claims: At month-end, dealers claim their disbursed cash plus a service bonus. This automation removed the “hectic” manual ledger work that previously bottlenecked their operations.
  • Internal Coupon Production: We replaced external printing costs by building an internal generation engine. The system now creates, lists, and prints encrypted coupons directly via thermal printers, saving costs and securing the supply chain.

3. Anti-Counterfeiting & Security Layers
Protecting brand integrity was a primary requirement. We utilized the existing QR infrastructure to create a dual-purpose security check:

  • Origin Verification: When a customer scans a QR code, they are directed to the official PPG verification portal to confirm product authenticity.
  • The “Scan-Limit” Protocol: To prevent the reuse of copied labels, we implemented a 5-scan maximum threshold. Once a code exceeds this limit, it is flagged as potentially counterfeit and deactivated, providing a robust layer of security against fraudulent reproductions.

The final deliverable was a comprehensive Admin Dashboard that grants PPG headquarters total visibility over their ecosystem:

  • User Management: Centralized control over professional, dealer, and distributor registries.
  • Batch Controls: Ability to generate, track, and print thousands of unique, secure QR batches.
  • Financial Oversight: Real-time management of point redemptions and dealer cash reimbursements.
  • Inventory Intelligence: Granular tracking of used vs. unused codes to monitor market penetration and sales trends.

Technical Impact

By replacing manual operations with this automated mobile and web suite, PPG successfully reduced manpower overhead, eliminated data silos, and created a secure, transparent relationship with the individuals who drive their brand’s success.
